What is this Numerology?

Numerology could be called the pseudo science of mathematics by many critics.  To this day, there isn’t a lot of evidence to prove whether or not numerology is accurate.  Yet, the art has persisted for thousands of years, right along side other pseudo sciences like astrology and tarot.  Many people believe these practices work to help them do everything from predicting the future to gaining insight into their deepest character flaws and strengths.

Based on Numerical Vibrations…

Numerology is based on the idea that everything in the Universe has a vibration that correlated to a mathematical number.  The way that musical notes each carry their own vibration that resonates at a numerical value.  So, a long time ago, people assigned meanings to certain numbers based on where and how those numbers came up most frequently.  Today, many scientists are following a similar line of thought with String Theory, or the idea that on the smallest level of material existence everything in the Universe is tied together by strings that even vibrate at different frequencies.

Numbers Show up in Groups

There are many associations we make with lucky numbers.  They may have come up because it takes a long time and a certain number of tries before a person succeeds in something.  Each time you try your chances of succeeding increase, until suddenly you’ve won.  For example, the phrase ‘Third times the charm’ is quite popular.  It just seems to take about three times before a person is successful in their endeavor.  It’s probably because each time we try, we learn a bit more of the information that’s required to succeed.

In fact the number three in numerology relates to going forth in order to bring into existence something that is desired or wanted.  It also indicates a delay, as with the past two attempts, but the promise of future success the third and final try.

The number three shows up frequently in our culture as a significant and lucky number.  For example, California’s third strike judicial system and even the trinity concept of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost in Catholicism are well known aspects of North American culture. 

A long time ago, someone began messing around with the numbers of different objects and names in our material world.  This person found a correlation between the two.  Certain numbers show up more frequently than others.  Each number seems to be associated more often than others to specific topics and events even people’s characters.  Numerology can be used to find out a specific vibration and how you can best take advantage of that vibration.
